1. About IRIS XR
IRIS XR is an iPad app for sterile processing staff in hospitals. It helps staff identify surgical instruments and check trays. There is no public sign-up: IRIS XR INC sets up each hospital account and its staff. We do not show ads, sell personal data, or track people across other companies' apps or websites.
2. Who is responsible for your information
Activity records created by hospital staff belong to their hospital. IRIS XR INC stores and processes them to provide the service and, under our agreements with hospitals, uses them to improve IRIS XR. Instrument and tray information, and our recognition models, belong to IRIS XR INC. You can contact us directly about your information (section 7).
3. What we collect
- Account information: the hospital's login, and staff names, roles and profile pictures, set up by IRIS XR INC.
- Activity records: which staff member signed in and when, which trays and instruments they worked with, and the results of their checks.
- Tray photos: still photos of trays taken during checks. The live camera view stays on the iPad.
- Technical data: such as the iPad's IP address when it connects to our servers.
We do not collect location, contacts, audio or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no third-party analytics or advertising tools.
4. How we use it
- To provide the app: sign hospitals in, show their trays and instruments, and keep activity records for their documentation.
- To improve IRIS XR, including training our instrument-recognition models with tray photos and activity records.
- To keep the service working and secure.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
5. Who receives it
- Service providers that help us run and improve IRIS XR, such as hosting and image labelling, under contracts that require them to protect the data and use it only for our work.
- Your hospital and the IRIS XR INC staff who support it.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide and improve IRIS XR, including after a hospital stops using the app, unless deletion is requested. Deleting information does not undo improvements already made to our models.
7. Your choices and requests
- To ask for a copy of your information, or for it to be corrected or deleted, use our support form at https://irisxrlab.com/support with your name and your hospital's name. We may need to confirm your identity and may let your hospital know about the request. We respond within 45 days.
- Hospitals can ask us to delete all of their data.
- Camera access is optional and can be changed in iPad Settings → IRIS XR. Without it, the camera cannot identify instruments and no photos are taken.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption. No system is perfectly secure.
9. Children
IRIS XR is for hospital staff and is not intended for children.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date.
